Little Waves

Little Waves suggests landscapes with water and the sky.  They are etching and monotype or indigo dye on my own handmade mulberry paper and kozo fiber lace.  The etching's hatched lines show my interest in mark making.  These prints on handmade paper are translucent and sometimes are reversed in my collage.Each panel is printed separately and sewn together by hand.  As a child, I watched my grandmother sewing for my family.  I remember her kaeshi-nui (backstitch) to make the stitching strong.  The kozo fiber with print on the surface is also stitched onto the paper.
